Kiana holds a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology from Capilano University and is truly passionate about the study of movement, both in her own practice and when teaching younger students. With nearly four years of experience as a Strength and Conditioning coach, she thrives on seeing her clients improve and excel in their respective fields. Kiana's studies highlighted the importance of exercise, particularly for those with chronic conditions. She is therefore determined to individualize exercise programs to make movement not just tolerable, but genuinely enjoyable for this population. Kiana firmly believes that movement should empower people, helping them build confidence, resilience, and a better quality of life.
Kiana's approach is rooted in science-backed, evidence-based strategies, ensuring the safest and most effective outcomes for every individual. Recognizing the human body as a complex system where interconnected factors influence how we perceive and experience pain, she adopts a holistic perspective. This involves thoroughly investigating all potential contributors to pain, allowing her to understand nuances to better personalize treatment plans. For Kiana, the philosophy is simple: Movement is Medicine.
Drawing from extensive research, Kiana designs individualized strength and conditioning programs for sport performance, general fitness, chronic pain, and special populations (including pregnant individuals and those with chronic heart conditions). She understands the unique challenges associated with diverse conditions and is passionate about creating exercise programs that clients can adhere to and achieve tangible results from. She is especially passionate about injury rehabilitation and seeing people get stronger and more confident over time using exercise.
A proponent of leading by example, Kiana is highly dedicated to her own training, consistently prioritizing strength and hypertrophy training 2-3 times a week. She also enjoys recreational running, volleyball, basketball, soccer, badminton, and Frisbee.
